Autumn 2011
I
am happily settled into my role as resident artist at Slimbridge
Wetlands Centre. I now have a permanent display area and can
be seen at my easel one or two days most weeks. The days are not
consistent so contact me if you would like to meet.
I
will be working at some new venues next year. I will be doing a
one week residency at Nature
in Art,Twigworth, near Gloucester from February 20th. They have
a dedicated studio space for artist to work and I will be working
on a very large oil and some other pieces in acrylic and watercolour
during the week. I am also leading a workshop there in April. See
my workshops page for
more details.
I
am also leading two workshops next year at Farncombe
Estate Centre in Worcestershire in March and August.
Authentic
Adventures have hired me to lead two painting holidays next
year, one in Kerala, India and one in Spain. Again details are on
my workshops page. I am very thrilled by this opportunity. This
is a highly regarded company that specialise in these kinds of breaks.
Do look at their website to see what they have to offer. They are
sending me out to India three days ahead of the holiday so I can
be well prepared. Kerala is very special, and Alpujarras Natural
Park at the foot of the mountains is very unspoilt.
Details
for all my workshops at Slimbridge, Farncombe, Nature in Art and
my own home Stable Studio can be found on my workshops
page, along with information about how to book. I hope to see
you there next year.
If
you are interested in murals and happen to be in Dursley, Gloucestershire
you might like to visit the Reid’s
Restaurant where I am working on a large mural of a view across
the Grand Canal, Venice. At 30’ long and 10’ high it is the biggest
interior mural I have undertaken to date. I am doing the work in
great detail so it is slow progress but they have an interesting
approach in that they don’t want me to finish it in time for the
opening but want it to be seen as a work in progress over the coming
six months so visitors to the restaurant can see how it is progressing!
