2014 Events and Exibitions
This year I am focussing on attending as many of the prestigious national bird fairs as I can as well as other local events. You will find I have a very wide selection of images on my stand comprising of drawings, watercolours and prints in mounts, alongside paintings in all mediums, shapes and sizes.
Festival of Birds
WWT Slimbridge, Gloucestershire
1st and 2nd February (10.00 am – 5.00 pm)
I had a display at this small, very enjoyable show last year. It adds an extra interest to a day's visit to Slimbridge with lots of different bird-related exhibits.
Chew Valley Bird Fair, Somerset
(Outside The London Camera Exchange Optics Shop and adjacent to Chew Valley Lake Tea Shop)
11th and 12th April
The annual Chew Valley Bird Fair provides nature lovers, bird watchers and photographers with a great day out in the country. For the serious bird watcher there will be about 20 firms offering a variety of cameras and scopes. There will be a falconry display and the Bristol Ornithological club will be attending. In the wild arena there will be a number of demonstrations and photography workshops. I will be there in my own marquee with over 100 paintings and drawings to view.
Berkeley Castle One Man Show
17th April to 21st April (Easter Weekend)
I am delighted to have been invited by John Berkeley to have an exhibition in the Great Hall of Berkeley Castle. This will be a one man show where I will be exhibiting a range of my landscapes, bird paintings and prints. I will be showing for the first time a collection of works featuring the ‘Hulks' on the Severn Estuary. The preview will take place on the 17th at 6.30pm. Severnvale Art Trail
2nd May – 6th May
Following our successful first exhibition in our home and studio last year during the Severnvale Art Trail Liz and I will be hosting open house and studio once more, with the added temptation of home-made cake and refreshments for the beginning long weekend of the Art Trail. We will be open 10.00am – 6.00pm on each day.
If you have not visited the art trail before it is worth doing as it is now very well established with a very wide selection of work to be seen by local artists, covering most of the Severnvale Area around Thornbury, Berkeley and Wootton-under-edge.
The Scottish Bird Fair (RSPB)
Hopetoun House , Edinburgh
10th and 11th May
I am very excited to have been invited to take a stand at this relatively new event following an approach by the organisers when I was showing at the Rutland Bird Fair last year. The RSPB are holding this bird fair in Hopetoun House, located near South Queensferry to the west of Edinburgh. It is the residence of the Earl of Hopetoun, set in extensive grounds and it is claimed to be Scotland's finest stately home.
The Norfolk Bird Fair
Mannington Hall, near Aylsham and Holt and the north Norfolk Coast
17th and 18th May
This brand new bird fair is taking place in the extensive grounds and gardens of Mannington Hall, the home of Lord and Lady Walpole.
Kendrick Street Gallery
7th to 21st June
I am pleased to be having a one man exhibition in this first class gallery in Stroud.

Nature in Art Residency
Twigworth, near Gloucester
15th to 20th July
I am very happy to be returning to take up a week's residency at Nature in Art. It is such a friendly and interesting venue. I will be working in my studio from 10.00 am to 5.00pm every day. I will be demonstrating and very happy to talk about my work and working practices with visitors.
South Gloucestershire Show
Windmill Fisheries Showground, BS37 8QZ
2nd and 3rd August
I will be having a stand in the Arts and Crafts marquee at this local county show just north of Bristol. It will be my first appearance at this show and it looks to have a large variety of events and exhibitions.
Rutland Bird Fair
Eggleton, Rutland Water Nature Reserve, Rutland
15th to 17th August
I will be showing my work in the Artists Marquee after a very successful show there last year where I sold several original pieces of work and obtained a number of commissions. So I am hoping this year will be as good, if not better. This is a lovely part of the world and a great venue.
Berkeley Country Show
This very friendly event held in the meadow below the ramparts of Berkeley Castle is a great day out. I will have my marquee with my usual selection of original work, cards and prints.
Frampton Country Fair
Frampton upon Severn, Gloucestershire
This is reputed to be the best one day country fair you are ever likely to visit. Personally I wish it was two days. I will be there again in my own marquee enjoying the really friendly atmosphere.
Birds and Landscapes in all their glory
The Wool Barn, Frampton on Severn
27th September to 5th October
This superb Grade 1 listed sixteenth century timber-framed building will be the venue for a one man exhibition with a lot of new work including local landscapes. If you would like an invitation to the preview on the 27th September please let me know.
